Frequently asked questions.
Q: What size cake should I get?
To choose the right cake size, consider the number of people you need to serve and the occasion. Here's a general guide:
Round Cakes:
6-inch: Serves 6-8 people. Good for a small family gathering or a very intimate celebration.
8-inch: Serves 12-16 people. A good all-around choice for small to medium parties.
10-inch: Serves 20-28 people. Suitable for larger parties or gatherings.
12-inch: Serves 34-38 people. Best for a larger event or when you want to be sure there's enough cake
Tiered Cakes:
Tiered cakes are multiple cakes (usually 2-3) stacked on top of each other. This allows you to serve a larger group and make a great impression at important gatherings. You can mix and match tiers to reach your desired serving size. examples below:
A 6-inch and 8-inch two-tiered cake serves around 20-30 people.
A 10-inch and 8-inch two-tiered cake serves approximately 40-50 people.
Additional Tips:
● Consider the serving size: A "normal" slice is different from a party-sized slice. Plan for slightly larger slices if it's a celebration or if your guests are known to have big appetites.
● Factor in other desserts: If you're serving other desserts, you might be able to choose a smaller cake size.
● Ask us and we can help you determine the appropriate size based on your guest count and preferences.
Q: Do you write on Cakes?
● We do not write on cakes at this time. We DO have a printer that prints images and messages onto icing sheets! Send us a file of your design or we can create a design for you. Photos, text messages, and themes are easy to print off.
Q: Do you have pre-made ice cream cakes?
YES! We like to keep our grab and go freezer stocked with ice cream cakes of varying sizes and flavors. You can always call during our business hours to see what’s available and claim a cake if you need a delightful frozen dessert STAT!
Q: How long should the cake sit out before cutting it?
An ice cream cake should ideally be kept frozen to maintain its quality and prevent melting. Once taken out of the freezer, it should be served within a specific timeframe to avoid spoiling.
Here's a breakdown:
Ideal Storage:
Ice cream cakes should be stored in the freezer at 0°F (-18°C) or below.
Tempering:
If taking it out of the freezer, allow it to sit at room temperature for about 15-30 minutes before cutting.
Serving Time:
Once the cake has been taken out of the freezer, it should be served within 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the cake's size and the room temperature.
Signs of Spoilage:
If the cake has developed ice crystals, a change in color, or a strange taste.
